Madame Tussauds Brings Whitney Houston To Life With 4 Exclusive Wax Figures [Photos]

Sort of feels weary that a year has passed since the death of Whitney Houston. Gone but certainly not forgotten her legacy continues to live on through her music, movies, and of course her daughter Bobbi Kristina.

Now in celebration of Nippy’s passing the house of wax out of New York Madame Tussaud’s have unveiled 4 Whitney Houston figures each representing a very significant and popular era of the singers career. Each wax figure will be on display in one of their four locations in the US (New York, Las Vegas, Washington DC, and Hollywood). The event which took place on Thursday (February 7th) was attended by members of Whitney’s family including mother Cissy, brother Gary Houston and manager/sister-n-law Pat Houston.

Definitely wouldn’t mind seeing these in person. I certainly had no idea DC had a Madame Tussaud’s but It’s definitely on my to do list. Now peep some up close photo’s after the jump..

The new single (available now on iTunes) is taken from the November 13th album release of  ‘I Will Always Love You’ – The Best Of Whitney Houston‘ featuring remastered versions of her timeless works of art.

Another interesting tidbit which I forgot to mention is R.Kelly performed this at Whitney’s home-going services. Makes sense he remixed and turned it into a duet for her upcoming album.

By Hollywood standards the show must go on as Jordan Sparks, Tika Sumpter, and Carmen Ejogo carry on in the spirit of Whitney Houston with the much talked about remake of the 70′s classic ‘Sparkle‘. The ladies are very beautiful on the front cover of the September issue of Ebony Magazine. Also inside Bobbi Kristina pens an open letter to her mom which should be a very interesting read as well.

I’m sure the movie will do really great numbers seeing as how this is Whitney’s last studio production. The previews alone sent chills through my body especially during Nippy’s ‘Eyes Is On Sparrow‘ scene.

Happy Birthday Whitney Houston + Bobbi Kris Gets Tattoo In Memory Of Mother

Today we celebrate the birth of one of pop culture’s most beloved vocalist Whitney Houston! I could go on and on about how much we miss her and wish she was still here but I’ll save it and remember the great entertainer that she was.

So Happy Birthday Whitney Houston…Gone but definitely not forgotten…

In related news daughter Bobbi Kristina decided to celebrate her mother’s birthday today along with Whitney’s adopted son Nick Gordon aka Bobbi’s alleged boyfriend Nick Gordon and get matching dove tattoo’s.

The NYDailyNews reported that the couple visited Inksomnia Tattoo in Alpharetta, Ga., Wednesday night to get the new ink which was placed on their right wrists featuring the singer’s initials, a quartet of the beloved birds of peace and two small crosses. Camera crews were also present, indicating the filming of a ‘Houston family’ reality show.

[Video] 2012 BET Award Show Whitney Houston Tribute Performance

In a moment that most of us were waiting for which should have closed out the show, The Whitney Houston tribute was done beautifully by the heads over at BET (thankfully). Monica, Brandy, Chaka Khan, Brother Gary Houston,the cast of ‘Waiting To Exhale’ and mother Cissy Houston saluted the soulful angel in proper grandeur…Although Pat Houston was present in the audience, Bobbi Kristina was nowhere in sight….

The entire tribute was splendid as mother Cissy Houston brought the house down and moved many of us to tears including Soulja Boy…

Co-stars Derek Luke, Omari Hardwick, Goapele, Carmen Ejogo, and Tika Sumpter make appearances in the feel good party track.
