Drake channeled the dramatics of Degrassi and was once again bit by the acting bug when the rap superstar double dutied as host/performer of Saturday Night Live last night. Young Money’s 2nd premiere artist was nearly featured in just about every skit and even made time to perform while bringing out artist and rumored girlfriend Jhene Aiko.
Also all eyes were on an unfamiliar face last night as Sasheer Zamata (why that even matters baffles me) the first African-American chick to be hired on the show since 2009 made her debut on SNL; appearing in a bevy of parodies.
Even with major rap artist and a new face on the show, SNL still managed to poke fun at a slew of major headlines this week including New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, legalization of weed, and the Golden Globes.
In case you missed the entire episode peep out the late night shenanigans below.

What better to generate buzz for your upcoming album than to invite two of hip hop’s most talked about artist to help push your single. That’s what super producer Timbaland did when he gathered Jay-Z, Drake, and James Fauntleroy to participate on his latest single ‘Know About Me‘. The bumping track, which is heavy on the beat sets the atmosphere ablaze in anticipation for Timbaland’s upcoming album Textbook Timbo.
Although I’m elated about the single and forthcoming album I’m thoroughly hyped that Timbaland will be joining Jay-Z on the upcoming U.S leg of the ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail‘ tour when it kicks off Nov. 30th at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN. Can’t wait to witness musical greatness when I attend the concert in Jan.
Check out Va’s finest as Timbo pulls out the heavy ammuntion for this killer collabo…

I blame Kendrick Lamar for all this fuck shit. Before he lit fire into Hip Hop everybody was shooking and jiving in each other’s videos. Save that Kumbaya camaraderie for someone who cares because Drake is not seeing it for Future or his shady comments regarding his new album ‘Nothing Was The Same’. I’ll take sue that ass for $1.5 Milli Alex….[Crunktastical]

While Rihanna and Teyana Taylor are the new beef attraction on the scene their boytoy’s have decided to put their petty squabbles on the shelf. According to NY Post Page Six Chris Brown and Drake broke the ice and ended their beef during the iHeart Radio Festival over the weekend as the two were seen hugging it up backstage according to eye witnesses.

At work bored and tired of hearing the complaining single lady in the cubicle beside you rant on Instagram or tuning out the overly hype guy who made it to first base with his blind date from E-Harmony? Then check out Justin Timberlake‘s ‘The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2‘ Via iTunes now! From first listen the album seems to be in a more darker place…. a lot different from the 1st ’20/20′ which dropped earlier this year.
The album is slated to drop next week and features appearances from Jay-Z, Drake, and production courtesy of Timbaland. While you’ve already heard ‘Take Back The Night‘ and newly released ‘TKO‘ sit back and listen to see what other album gems JT has cooked up. I’m already feeling ‘True Blood‘.

I’m allowed a tardy pass every once in a while especially when it relates to new music. When Drake claimed he wanted his new single ‘Hold On We’re Going Home‘ to be played at wedding’s I really expected Drake to be singing his Canadian heart out. It took me a few listens but I was eventually hooked to the feel good song.
I don’t know what it is about the song that intrigues me so but I can’t seem to keep it off of repeat (don’t judge). Drake knows how to create an instant hit especially for radio and definitely the ladies. Not to be a bandwagon bum but I’m anticipating Drake’s new album ‘Nothing Was The Same‘ (plug).
Have a listen if you haven’t heard ‘We’re Going Home‘ and click play again if you just want to sit at your desk and jig a bit…..

If his passion for Aaliyah wasn’t enough Drizzy is aiming his personal shrine to old Destiny’s Child music with his latest track “Girls Love Beyoncé”. The Canadian Cape Crusader samples DC’s Say My Name with a little help from singer James Fauntleroy.
I guess it’s safe to assume anything #BeyHiv related will surely give Drake plenty of cool point inside the House Of Deréon.

The battle between Drizzy Drake and C Breezy took another interesting turn last night when Drake appeared on EVR Radio with Elliott Wilson and dished on his upcoming album, The Rick Ross Reebok drama, Lil’ Wayne, and of course his beef with Chris Brown.
The Canadian Cape Crusader didn’t hold anything back proclaiming he made better music than Chris Brown and that Breezy’s anger is built on him being insecure. Drake also rants about being a gentleman to Rihanna (which he claimed she was lacking), and the need for media to allow them to deal with their beef which he hopes they can laugh about one day.
Seems like Drake is all about the music and keeping the drama on the bottom. Check out that portion of the interview below.

Drake is not about a lot of sh*t talking instead channeling all of his fierce daggers into music. Young Money’s cash cow dropped the hard-hitting ’5am In Toronto’ (produced by Boi-1da and Vinylz) where Drizzy goes after many of his disctractors, addresses petty beefs and assures that without him the rap game would be a graveyard (You can Thank Him Later).
Of course we all know Drake has an album dropping later this year (Nothing Was The Same) so I’m sure he’s about to start building some much-needed buzz around this latest project.
Peep out Maple Syrup’s latest track below.
Kendrick Lamar is definitely a dope lyricist so it comes as no surprise that his visuals are of the same caliber. The West coast rapper is joined by the homie Drake recreating what would appear to be a lost scene from the movies ‘Boyz In The Hood‘ or ‘Poetic Justice‘ which the song shares the same name along the streets of Compton.
There was talk Lamar wanted Janet Jackson to appear the video (the inspiration behind the song) but I’m sure she’s too busy preparing for her 3rd chance at love. Anyway peep out ‘Poetic Justice’ below and bask in Kendrick Lamar’s cinematic greatness…
