Stay Mad! Aretha Franklin Continues Her Reign; Remakes ‘I Will Survive’ & ‘Survivor’ [Listen]

While your favorite artist are struggling to get a decent single to chart on Billboard, The Queen of Soul is remaking old classics and placing her jugs on display for all you naysayers…

Another album jem dropped today featuring Aretha Franklin‘s version of Gloria Gaynor‘s ‘I Will Survive‘ and a Destiny’s Child mix of ‘Survivor’ which surprisingly sounds fantastic…. Definitely a better showing than her ‘Rolling In The Deep’ fiasco.

Aretha is 100 years old and singing your favorite new and updated artist under the bus with ease. I love it. In the meantime peep the upbeat, disco flavored tune after the jump and don’t forget to purchase Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics later this month.

Thanks Tony3k for putting me up on game!

[Watch] Aretha Franklin and Cissy Houston Perform on David Letterman

No not as a duet but I though it was important to recognize the mother of the late Whitney Houston was on the same stage. Aretha Franklin was musical guest on The Late Show With David Letterman and Cissy was in attendance as a back-up singer for Franklin.

Ms. Franklin was there promoting her upcoming album Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics and released her cover of Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ yesterday. The performance was great and Aretha delivered considering her many health problems in recent years. I was however concerned for Cissy Houston who seemed sad and off throughout. I’ll just go off on a limb here and say that her appearance was due to Cissy’s close relationship with Aretha and her being the godmother of the late Nippy.

Anyway check out Aretha Franklin grooving to beat while delivering a very funny interview with David Letterman after the performance.

[New Video] Fantasia Feat Kelly Rowland & Missy Elliott – ‘Without You’

Fantasia brings the heat and the sexiness with her new video for ‘Without You’ the second single from her album ‘Side Effects Of You‘. The new visuals were directed by GoMillion and Leupold and features Kelly Rowland and infectious rap by hip hop queen Missy Elliott.

All three ladies shine bright like diamonds and even deliver some provocative dance moves. Earlier after the album was released Fantasia expressed how she wanted Missy to direct so no word on if Missy added her infamous directorial flair to the video. You can tell Fantasia and Kelly had great chemistry and the collaboration is definitely a win in my book.
